A controversial new education campaign in Australia has raised questions about appropriate workplace language versus freedom of speech.

Whilst I appreciate and respect freedom of speech, I think in order for everyone to feel included using the word guys when addressing a group of mixed genders just doesn't feel right. I always consciously say guys and girls or refrain from saying anything that specifically anchors to gender, I am continually coach leaders to the same.

How far should we take this? Should employers be forced to have to gender sensitivity training for 58 genders that social media giants like Facebook recognise.
