Having technical skills alone is not enough to succeed. Here are four ways to encourage soft skills in your business.

People largely want experiences not explanations.
So forget heavily laden analytical monologues if you want to connect with people.
Instead capture the essence of what the stats tell you and create a story that illustrates it visually to people. In this way you can demonstrate better social skills, empathy and self awareness by pacing your conversation and story according to the connection you are making. You are more likely to also influence further outcomes rather then just nods.
Forget being perfect - focus on progress a little at a time so you deliberately measure how people are responding.
After all, communication is all about the response you get. IF you are not getting what you need relook at the way in which you are engaging with the soft skills.. or should I say, the hard skills!
It may look easy, but it's not.
So be deliberate, don't dabble in soft skills. It is the true measure of a great leader, manager and employee.
